Galentine's Day is unofficially the most heartfluttering day of the year, intended for celebrating the non-romantic loves of your life and love in all forms. Originally celebrated on the 13th of February, it visually ties in with the Valentine's Day aesthetic, meaning that once your decorations are up, you are set for an extended celebration. This is where Le Creuset makes its grand entrance, stealing your guests' hearts at first sight. This year, make your tablescape the focal point of the festivities with an Instagram-worthy vibe that they will not only remember but also enjoy in the moment. From a curated menu to cake decorating and crafting, here's our Galentine's guide, in collaboration with the dinner party maestro, Studio Pen.
Pick a Theme & Colour Scheme
We love the idea of a themed party and our creative host hit the mark with this one: Besties & Buttercream with Hearts (you can never have enough hearts). This theme pulled through to the table setting, which was – true to the V-day moodboard – draped in shades of pink and red. Both beautiful and functional, Le Creuset's Heart Collection adorned the table for a touch of élégance.
Curate A Menu
Hosting an elegant dinner requires a delicious line up of courses, preferably prepared and/or served in Le Creuset. You can also make your menu part of the experience, restaurant style, with print-out versions on every setting.
Here's how Studio Pen presented her 3-course meal:
STARTERS:
A cheeseboard with a Galentine's Day twist. Replacing the usual platter board with our Cast Iron Heart Skillet as a vessel for the crackers and cheese not only created an element of surprise, but also kept all the snacks in place – love is in the details.
MAINS:
Pasta with heart-shaped tomatoes and lots of cheese topped with basil, made and served from kitchen to table in the Cast Iron Heart Casserole. She paired with red wine, sipped from Le Creuset glassware of course – only the best for your beloved guests.
DESSERT:
Heart-shaped cake with delicious buttercream frosting and an assortment of sweet treats like macaroons served in our Mini Cocottes. Recreate this look at home with your favourite recipe and our Bakeware Heart Spring Form Cake Tin, which will easily release your cake in perfect shape.

Bake & Decorate
What is a soiree without a fun activity to get the conversation and creative juices flowing? Indulging every sweet tooth, we did cake decoration. You can either do this with homemade cakes, or get store-bought sponges if you’re strapped for time. The secret to a perfect execution, is doing a mise en place of all your toppings using our Heart Mini Bowls. We also suggest making frosting and scooping into piping bags ahead of time. Then, you’ll need utensils to spread your icing with – this calls for our Craft Medium Spatulas.
