Star Ginger Biscuits
- 65g butter softened
- 50g brown sugar
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
- 150g cake flour
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Grease baking sheets with canola oil.
Cream the butter and sugar with an electric whisk until pale. Add the golden syrup, flour, ginger and bicarbonate of soda, and beat together to form a dough. Wrap in clingfilm and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll out to about 3mm thick on a floured surface. Use a cookie cutter to cut out star shapes. Place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until the edges are beginning to turn golden. Remove from the oven. Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with icing sugar to serve.
