Magic Microwave Chocolate Cakes with Honeycomb

Easy, indulgent chocolate cakes, made in minutes in the microwave.

Cook's NoteSwirl a teaspoon of smooth peanut butter through the top of the batter of the cocotte before cooking in the microwave. These cakes can also be made in Le Creuset 350ml mugs – simply double the mixture and cook for double the time.

  • 8 Tbsp cake flour
  • 8 Tbsp caster sugar
  • 4 Tbsp whisked whole egg
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 6 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 6 Tbsp chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Honeycomb, to decorate
  • Malted milk chocolate puffs dusted with edible silver shimmer dust, to garnish


Combine all the ingredients together and spoon into 4 x Le Creuset Metallics 10cm mini cocottes.

Place in the microwave and cook on high for 1 – 2 minutes each or until just spongy to the touch.

Garnish with honeycomb and malted chocolate puffs dusted with edible shimmer dust.
