Infused with rooibos and given extra zing with a twist of lemon and a generous glug of whiskey, this hot drink is just the thing to keep you going on Christmas Eve when you’re up late waiting for Santa to put in an appearance.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 rooibos teabag
  • 600ml apple cider
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 tbsp whiskey
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Extra lemon slices to garnish

METHOD

Place the teabag and cider in a pot over medium-high heat. Heat gently until it almost comes to a simmer.

Add the lemon slices, remove from the heat and stir in the whiskey and lemon juice.

Pour into 4 cups and garnish with more lemon slices.
