Sarah Graham’s Food Safari is a cooking show that explores some of Africa’s most interesting and exciting food through the eyes of food writer and cook, Sarah Graham. After a highly successful first season, the adventure continues tonight (Monday 9 January) with the season premiere of Sarah Graham’s Food Safari 2 on M-Net Channel 101.
“In this season, we’re heading off on a food adventure that travels all the way from the endless beaches and blue seas of Mozambique’s coastline, to the bustling and colourful chaos of Maputo. We’ll explore the bushveld of the Kruger National Park area to the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon, and many magical spots in between, feasting and exploring as we go. I can’t wait to share it with you all! Head over to my website and Instagram to follow along!”
In episode 1, premiering tonight, Sarah takes us just north of Maputo up the Mozambican coastline where you’ll find the seaside town of Tofo, with lines of gently swaying palm trees and it’s seemingly endless turquoise waters. Sarah will head out on a beautiful Arab-style sailing dhow to the Island that local cook Sonia grew up on, and visit an old dhow building master to learn more about his craft. “I’ll also spend time in the kitchen with Sonia at her restaurant Tofo Tofo, and learn some local dishes from her as well as prepare some of my own favourites for Sonia and her friends, ending our episode with a balmy beach party under the stars.”
