Itadakimasu: Let’s Eat!

Itadakimasu is an essential phrase in your Japanese vocabulary. It literally means “I will”, but in a mealtime setting, is comparable to “Let’s eat,” or “Bon appétit”.

Recreate the experience of a Japanese izakaya (informal-style pub) at home with authentic recipes and products from Le Creuset. The Zen Kitchen collection will inspire you and you loved ones to try the delights of Far Eastern cuisine with delicious results.

Though the Japanese often seem reserved, they are highly sociable, especially around the table at mealtimes. Many izakayas have long tables, where people eat and laugh in large groups. From the restaurant to the home, eating together is of great importance to society. The table becomes a canvas for the expression of culinary art.
